The Perfect Bridal Suite

“I stayed at Marguerite the night before my wedding at Chatsworth Plantation, and it was everything I wanted and more! My bridesmaids and I had plenty of space, and it was a beautiful backdrop for my getting ready photos.”

A Location with Rich History
While we’re still uncovering documents detailing the history of the home, it is estimated that Marguerite Bed and Breakfast was first constructed in the early 1770s for Louis Dutisne, the commandant of the Iberville District. However, the property gets its name from its third owner, Marguerite LeBlanc, who received the home upon her marriage to Joseph Landry.

In the home’s library, we display a variety of the documents that share this information, and during your next stay at Marguerite Bed and Breakfast, we’d love to share more about the events that took place within the home and the significance of the St. Gabriel area in U.S. history.
